The details of my RASA 11 setup:
- Mount: Astro-Physics Mach1GTO
- Scope: Celestron RASA 11 V2
- Focuser: Celestron Focus Motor for SCT and EdgeHD
- Guiding: Orion 60mm Guide Scope with ZWO ASI174MM Mini Monochrome Camera
- Camera Adapter: Octopi Camera Interface for RASA 11, with filter slider
- Camera: ZWO ASI 6200MM Cooled Pro
- Filters: 2 inch - Chroma LRGB and Astronomik MaxFR HII/OIII/SII
- Dew Management: Celestron Aluminum Dew Shield with Dew Heater Ring
- Other: I wrapped the OTA Tube in Reflectix - the benefits of this are the subject of much debate.
A few notes:
- OTA alone is 43 lbs, and with all of the accessories probably adds up to 55 lbs. This system is a beast, size and weight wise, compared to my C11. I needed 28 more pounds of counterweights compared to my C11. It is pushing the limits for a temporary setup (i.e., lifting by one person).
- A RASA system requires tilt management. I decided to go with the Octopi interface, which is outrageously expensive. But it is well built and, for me, worth every penny. Keith even built custom 3D printer filter sliders for me to accommodate my unmounted 2 inch LRGB filters.
